The structure was named the Maxwell Arcade for its developer, Fred Maxwell. The Arcade was, and remains today, a premier Boom period example of classic Mediterranean Revival architecture. Since then the Mediterranean Village had housed many notable businesses, from photo shops to attorney's offices, restaurants to recording studios. The brick arches and colonnades of the Maxwell Room seem to harbor countless reflections throughout its years, from 1925 to the present. A reminder that while the world has changed and grown a fast-paced race, some things retain the charm and elegance of bygone days. Something that you and your guests will take home for a lifetime.
The Maxwell Room offers either plated or bridal buffet customized dinner and wedding packages, full open bar packages, butler passed hors d'oeuvres, complimentary free parking and a 100+ ft. floating dock. Ceremonies can be booked for the seawall on the New River or in The Maxwell Room's private courtyard. We are located just south of the Andrews Bridge on the New River Walk.
